Poppy was one of our first rescues. She came to us in 2022. She is our oldest pig at 14 years old.

She was used for breeding and when she was no longer any use to the breeder, she was going to be euthanised, but the lady where she stayed contacted us and agreed to fund a shelter for her.

We set to work with the building and then went to collect her. She was so strong that she broke out of the horse trailer on route, so we had to re-schedule the rescue and she was brought to us a couple of days later. (We then bought a new trailer after fundraising).

She is sassy, affectionate, friendly and lovable. She is our biggest pig here and is a complete daddy’s girl.

She runs after the mower and gets excited when her house is filled with hay, or she is fed. She is happy and content and now has a friend in with her called Percy Pig.
