Ozzy Orange

Ozzy came to us 1.5 years ago. When he came to us, he was overweight and his hooves were overgrown.

Ozzy was originally dropped off to a friend’s house and his carer said that she would be back, but never returned. Therefore Ozzy had to stay with the friend he was dropped off with. She was in a difficult position as she was not allowed animals where she lived, so he went out to toilet and then stayed in the lounge all day.

Consequently he became overweight and his hooves grew far too long. She loved him and looked after him to the best of her ability.

When we got a phone call from her to help, we went to see him and agreed to adopt him as one of our residents. We couldn’t wait to collect him and help him on his journey to full health and meet his new friends.

Ozzy missed her at first because pigs do grieve their carers, but he gradually settled in. The rest is history, he now is half the weight that he was and he runs around the field grazing, rooting and living his best life.

He still has a little problem with his eyesight but is sassy, funny and cuddly and we love him. That friend still visits Ozzy Orange now and he recognises her and rolls over for belly rubs. Pigs never forget kindness.
