Frankie Bloomers

We got a phone call form a gentleman in Southend that said he had a pig in his back garden that had been dumped in the woods near him. Frankie had been wandering around for two weeks trying to find food and eventually was taken in by this man. BUT he was 5.5 hours away.

The RSPCA couldn’t help with the rescue so it was down to us. We put an appeal out for Frankie so that he didn’t have to travel the long journey as pigs aren’t good generally at travelling.

When no one came forward, the man agreed to hire a trailer and drive to Reading (where my husband was with his van). My husband brought Frankie home and that’s when we found out that he wasn’t castrated, so after a few days of settling in, we had him castrated so that he could mix and make friends with the other pigs after his iso was over.

Frankie was and continues to be an absolute joy to us. He prefers to be in with the sheep, so that is where he now lives.
