🌈 Bluebell Bear 🌈

Bluebell Bear was morbidly obese when she came to us.

She had been overfed and kept in a very small enclosure with her sister Poppy, (who unfortunately died of an infection before we could rescue her). She lost half her body weight after we put her on a strict, healthy diet, but her belly still dragged on the floor. We tried everything to lift it off the floor.

I made a sling, even got her a size 28 pair of knicker to hold it up, but unfortunately, nothing worked. So Bristol University vets agreed to do a, never done before, tummy tuck on her and it worked. She recovered well and even started running in the fields. She has very recently passed away due to her bad start in life taking its toll on her body, but she had two blissful years with us on the sanctuary and was the most content, friendly, cuddly pig we have ever known.

She will always be loved and is greatly missed by us all.
